With the digital guide, visitors to the Berlin Wall Memorial can explore the Bernauer Strasse themselves using a smartphone or tablet PC. There are four different tours to choose from on the mobile website www.tourguide-gbm.de:

Over 140 incident markers
Along the grounds of the Berlin Wall Memorial, from Nordbahnhof to Schwedter Straße, over 140 metal incident markers have been embedded in the ground, referring to real events that took place at this location during the time of division. They tell of attempted, successful and thwarted escape attempts and everyday life at the border. All the events are marked on the map in the new digital guide and can be researched online using the relevant number.
